avedon series 1

For this project I tried to photograph subjects in Richard Avedon's style. This means that I tried to capture real emotion in each image. In addition the subject is usually centered and the photos are usually black and white.

  1. Overall, nice job! I really like how you took pictures of different people. My only suggestion is to take the pictures from the same distance. I have noticed that you tend to zoom in closer on some people, and others you zoom out. So try to take your pictures from the same distance. But besides that, these are really great pictures!

  2. Overall, great job! I think each photo captures the essence of people. It shows true emotion and it doesn't look staged. Great Job. Next time, I would try to dive deeper with one model.

  3. this is a great first series. i tihink that yu have really captured the style of Avedon as well as adding you own style to it. my favorite two are your last and first because i think that they capture their real emotion and the lighting in each is excellent. my least favorite it the pic of John because it looks too posed.

  4. Incredible lighting, i think that has to be the strongest part of this series. Everything else looks very good as well, and I personally think your picture of Benji is amazing. Good work.

  8. This is a really good continuation of our previous Avedon style photos. The third to last photo seems a little bit framed, but other than that they are all really good.
